the differentiator

Every pull, every clone, every epoch — free.

Git LFS meters it. Perforce makes you host it. Pako gives it away, because that's what kills the free tier for everyone else — and it costs us nothing.

pricing questions

The fine print, in plain words

Do you really not charge for bandwidth?

Correct. Egress is free on every plan, including Free. Pull a project to your whole team or render farm as often as you like — it never appears on the bill, because our blob storage costs nothing to serve.

What counts as a seat?

A seat is a person who can write to your private repositories. Read-only access to your public repositories is unlimited and free.

How does storage pricing work?

Each plan includes a storage quota. Beyond it, you pay a flat per-gigabyte-month rate with no surprises. Because storage is content-addressed, identical data is only stored once — branching a large dataset costs the difference, not a full copy.

Can I use Pako entirely for free?

Yes. The free tier includes generous storage, unlimited public repositories, file locking and previews — enough to run a real solo or small-team project indefinitely.

Which currency do you bill in, and where?

We bill in euros today. Storage is content-addressed and deduplicated — you pay for what you keep, not for moving it.

Can I self-host Pako?

Pako is a hosted SaaS — that's the point of it. Self-hosting isn't the pitch; zero-ops, free-bandwidth hosting is.

Start free, scale when you're ready.

No credit card to begin. Bandwidth is free at every tier, forever.
